Identity Design / Brand Design / Logo Design

  • I was tasked with designing a new identity for The Roman Oven, a local Italian restaurant. They are family-owned and operated, with the founders even working in the kitchen from time to time. As a result of this hands-on approach, The Roman Oven has an established and intimate connection with the local community. However, this connection is limited to in-person interactions and an occasional post on their Facebook feed.

  • During this design process, I focused on the restaurant's strengths, particularly its community connection and approachable personality. I aimed to create a more modern visual identity to expand its online reach.

I chose a non-traditional color palette for the Italian restaurant to make its advertisements memorable and distinct. The original logo lacked refinement, so I designed a hand-lettered logotype with simple gradient illustrations. This combination of casual, inviting copywriting strikes a balance between modern and homemade, reflecting the restaurant’s personality.
